Terms of Service

The ground rules for using Cows, including accounts, AI features, Premium subscriptions, and your content.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and BIN ZHANG, the operator of Cows ("Cows," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using Cows, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use Cows. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If local law requires parental or guardian consent, you may use Cows only with that consent.

2. Accounts

Core task and focus features may be used without an account. Cloud sync, AI features, the farm, and Premium purchases may require an Apple or Google sign-in.

You are responsible for protecting your sign-in credentials and for activity under your account. Apple and Google sign-ins create separate Cows accounts unless we expressly provide an account-linking feature. Contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Limited license

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cows for lawful personal purposes on devices you own or control, in accordance with applicable app-store rules.

You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, bypass security or entitlement checks, scrape the service, or use Cows to develop a competing service, except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of tasks, notes, comments, prompts, and other content you provide. You give us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the features you request.

You are responsible for your content and must have the rights needed to provide it. Do not submit unlawful content or sensitive information that is unnecessary for using the feature.

5. AI features

AI task breakdown and task-companion responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Review AI output before relying on it. Cows does not provide medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional advice.

You must not use AI features to violate law, infringe rights, generate harmful content, probe service security, or automate excessive requests. We may apply usage limits, including plan-based quotas, to protect service quality and cost.

6. Cows Premium subscriptions

Cows may offer monthly and annual auto-renewing Premium subscriptions. Available features, prices, billing periods, and trial eligibility are shown in the app and confirmed by Apple before purchase. Prices are localized and may include taxes.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A free trial, when offered and when you are eligible, converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge your account within 24 hours before renewal.
  • You can manage or cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting Cows or deleting a Cows account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies. We cannot directly issue App Store refunds.
  • You may use Restore Purchases to restore eligible purchases associated with your Apple Account.

Premium features may evolve over time. We will not reduce rights that law or the applicable app-store terms guarantee for an active subscription.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Cows, interfere with other users or infrastructure, access another person's account, upload malicious code, evade quotas or payment controls, or use the service in a way that violates law or others' rights.

8. Third-party services

Cows relies on services provided by Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, and AI or infrastructure providers. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

9. Cows intellectual property

Cows, its software, visual design, trademarks, illustrations, and other materials—excluding your content—are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. No rights are granted except the limited license stated in these Terms.

10. Suspension, termination, and account deletion

You may stop using Cows at any time and may delete your account through the in-app controls. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, fraud, security risk, legal requirement, or harm to the service or others.

Account deletion is designed to delete or schedule deletion of associated cloud data, subject to records that must be retained for transactions, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cows is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent storage of guest data, or that AI output will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from Cows. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Cows during the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

13. Governing terms and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's principal place of business, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.

14. Changes

We may update Cows and these Terms. We will post updated Terms, change the date above, and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms, where permitted by law.
